Akingam, August 3, 2024 — In a celebration of academic excellence and
dedication, the Government Higher Secondary School Akingam hosted a grand
felicitation ceremony on August 3, 2024, to honor its meritorious students. The
event was organized with great enthusiasm and was anchored by the dynamic
Mujeeb Ur Rehman, setting a lively and engaging tone for
the day's proceedings.
The ceremony began with the recitation of the Holy
Quran, setting a respectful and spiritual tone for the occasion. This was
followed by a heartfelt rendition of Naat Paak, further enhancing the solemnity
and significance of the event. The inaugural speech was delivered by Mr.
Mohammad Ayub Dar, a senior lecturer, who congratulated the toppers on their
outstanding achievements. He also expressed his appreciation to the teaching
faculty and the parents for their support, acknowledging their pivotal role in
the students' success.
The Guest of honor, Mr. Makhmoor Ahmad Bichoo, an
esteemed former senior lecturer of the institution who now serves at GHSS
Qazigund, graced the event with his presence. In his emotionally charged
speech, Mr. Bichoo reminisced about his tenure at HSS Akingam, expressing
immense pride in the achievements of the students. He praised the institution
for its peaceful environment, which he credited as a key factor in fostering
academic excellence. As he prepares to retire from the Department of Education
in a few months, Mr. Bichoo became teary-eyed, reflecting on his long and
fulfilling career. He humbly asked for forgiveness for
any past mistakes, intentionally or unintentionally during
his tenure, and expressed his heartfelt gratitude to his colleagues.
He also presented
gifts to the toppers as a token of his appreciation and affection.
Following Mr. Bichoo's address, Mr. Fayaz Ahmad
Attar, another senior lecturer at the school, spoke about the increasing
competitiveness in the academic world. He urged students to continue striving
for excellence and emphasized that teachers derive immense satisfaction and
pride from their students' successes. His speech was a motivational reminder of
the hard work and dedication required to excel in today's challenging
environment.
The ceremony also provided an opportunity for the
top-performing students to share their experiences. Saniya Qadir, a top
student, delivered a heartfelt speech in which she attributed her success to
the unwavering support of her teachers and parents. She described the guidance
she received at HSS Akingam as unforgettable and instrumental in her academic
journey. Younis Nissar, a class 12th Humanities student, expressed his
gratitude to his teachers for instilling hope in him and transforming his
academic prospects. Afnan Ayoub, the class 10th topper, shared a poignant story
from December 13, 2023, when he faced challenges in his studies but was encouraged
by his father and teachers to persevere. Ansa Ayoub, the class 12th Science
stream topper, spoke passionately about overcoming health challenges to achieve
her academic goals, highlighting the importance of resilience and
determination.
The head of the institution, Mr. Mohd Abass Rather,
addressed the gathering with tears of joy, expressing his heartfelt
congratulations to the toppers. He encouraged all students to continue working
diligently and aspire to make their teachers and school proud. His speech was
filled with emotions, reflecting the pride and joy he felt in witnessing the
accomplishments of the students.
After these inspiring speeches, a special session
was held to award mementos and certificates to the meritorious students. This
recognition not only celebrated their academic achievements but also motivated
other students to aspire for excellence.
In Class 12th Science, Tabiya Manzoor and Ansa
Ayoub both secured the top position with 469 marks each, followed by Fiza Jan
with 466 marks and Falak Ajaz with 455 marks. In the Humanities stream for
Class 12th, Saniya Qadir emerged as the top scorer with 483 marks, while Younus
Nisar and Faisal Yousuf followed with 432 and 418 marks, respectively.
For Class 11th Science, Tabiya Reyaz achieved the
highest score with 491 marks, with Zikra Yousuf and Fatima Batool securing the
second and third positions with 470 and 458 marks, respectively. In the
Humanities stream for Class 11th, Fiza Jan led with 485 marks, followed by
Arooj Nabi with 465 marks and Surriya Jan with 461 marks. In the Commerce
stream, Sheikh Salik topped with 443 marks.
Class 10th saw Afnan Ayoub leading with 471 marks,
followed by Suhaib Ahmad Wani with 447 marks and Abdul Hadi Najar with 429
marks. In Class 9th, Sahil Ahmad Mir achieved the highest score of 540 out of
600, with Anisa Farooq and Imran Ahmad Sheikh following closely with 480 and
479 marks, respectively.
The ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks
delivered by Miss Rukiya Anwar, a mathematics lecturer. She expressed her
gratitude to everyone involved in organizing the event, including the teaching
and non-teaching staff and the students. Special thanks were extended to Mr.
Mohammad Ayoub for his coordination efforts and to Mr. Mujeeb Ur Rehman for his
dynamic role as the anchor. Miss Anwar also acknowledged the contributions of
the female staff and praised the meritorious students for their hard work and
dedication. The event concluded with group photos, capturing the joy and pride
shared by all attendees, marking a memorable day in the history of Govt. Higher
Secondary School Akingam.
