The program began with a recitation of verses from the Holy
Quran, followed by a Naat in praise of Prophet Muhammad (SAW).
Mr. Sajad
Ahmad Wani then highlighted the enrollment initiatives launched
by the Directorate of School Education Kashmir and their
significance in Anantnag.
In his welcome
address, the Principal
& Cluster Head of HSS Akingam Mr. Tariq Ahmad Shah thanked
the guests for their valuable presence. He urged parents to enroll their children
in government schools, emphasizing quality education, experienced
faculty, and continuously improving infrastructure. He also
encouraged teachers to continue their outreach efforts to
maximize enrollments in the cluster.
A welcome song was presented by students, focusing on the importance of public education. Nafia Bashir, a student of 10th-grade shared her inspiring experience of transferring from a private institution to a government school, praising the government school system as a better choice for students.
Senior Lecturer Mohd Ayoub Dar highlighted the remarkable progress of HSS Akingam and
the entire Cluster Akingam, emphasizing the commitment of
teachers and students. He noted that HSS Akingam has successfully enrolled over 300
students despite having a small catchment area, reflecting the
trust parents have in government schools.
In the last five years, seven students from HSS Akingam
have qualified for NEET, showcasing the institution’s focus on
academic excellence. The school has also taken significant steps toward digitalization,
developing a dedicated app and website to enhance school
administration and communication.
He also acknowledged the contributions of various cluster
schools in improving educational standards. Schools across the
cluster have actively engaged in enrollment drives, co-curricular activities, and
innovative teaching methods. Notably, teachers at GPS Akingam have
been personally providing uniforms to underprivileged students,
ensuring that financial constraints do not hinder education.
A Kashmiri
song on education was
performed by the girls of GMS Akingam, highlighting the leadership of
the Cluster Head and the remarkable
progress of GMS Akingam.
Newly enrolled
students from various schools were appreciated by the DEPO and faculty members.
These schools included GMS Akingam, MS Reni, GPS Hardpora, PS Wandergund,
MS Arhama, BMS Badoora, MS Bonpora, MS Mohripora, GPS Badoora, and BPS Akingam.
Speaking at the
event, DEPO
Anantnag emphasized the importance of community outreach and urged teachers to take ownership
of their schools. He stated that parents have entrusted their
children to government institutions, and it is now the responsibility of
teachers to shape their future.
He urged teachers to give their 100% effort
to ensure both quality and quantity in education. He also emphasized
that teachers
must go beyond classrooms, engage with parents, and build trust within the
community to enhance student retention and performance.
He further encouraged parents to actively cooperate
with teachers, stating that strong parent-teacher collaboration
is essential for better educational outcomes. Assuring the
community of continued improvements, he mentioned that the government is committed to
enhancing school infrastructure, introducing digital learning tools, and
strengthening academic standards.
The Chief Guest
distributed admission forms to students who had transferred
from private institutions to government schools, marking their official
enrollment.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks
by Senior
Lecturer Mohd Abass Rather, who expressed gratitude to all
attendees and extended special appreciation to the program organizers.
Among the attendees were Principal BHSS
Achabal, Headmaster GHS Achabal, teachers, and students from
all cluster schools. The DEPO was informed that as a result of the dedication
of both the Cluster Head and the Cluster School Heads, more than 40 students
have already been enrolled in Class 9th. With the recent completion of Class
10th exams, over 100 enrollments are expected in Class 11th. At the cluster
level, schools have worked diligently, successfully enrolling 62 students so
far. This remarkable achievement reflects the collective hard work and
commitment of the school and cluster teams.
